Dave & Al Roker talk Ribs at Bubble Q on Miami Beach

The Food & Wine festival takes place each February on Miami Beach. This year our favorite event was the Perrier-Jouet Bubble Q where famous chefs from around the world prepare their favorite BBQ delicacy and wash it down with endless Champagne. The event is held in a huge series of tents on the Beach. Here Dave is seen chatting up Ribs with Al Roker while Frank was at the Godiva tent eating chocolates.

Dog Sledding in Canada...Mush, Mush, Mush!

Typically when skiing for a week, we take one day of rest and enjoy an alternative activity like snow mobiling or sleigh riding. This year we went on a Dog Sled adventure and it was just a blast. First we bonded with our pack of four dogs and made special friends with "Senator" our lead sled dog. One might think it is cruel to have dogs pull a sled with two adults in the cold but let me tell you these dogs LOVE to pull the sled and can't wait to do so. At times you have to apply the snow breaks because the dogs just want to run as fast as they can. After our ride we got to feed the dogs treats and hot chicken soup and then we visited the Husky Puppy pen where if I had my way, Buddy and Hiro would have a new Brother or Sister or two. It's hard to think of Buddy and Hiro pulling a sled unless the sled in front had a hamburger tied to it.

Whistler BC Ski Trip 2009

2008 was our first trip to Whistler BC so we were excited to return in 2009. This year Paul & Jane Lammerding from San Ramon joined us and we all had a great time together. Paul and Jane made the trip a lot more fun and extra special. Paul & Jane encouraged us to go to the very top "Summit" of both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains which is something Frank & I had never done before. Being at the Summit felt like walking on the moon because there were no trees and just rock and snow! It also felt like something out of a James Bond movie so needless to say Frank was thrilled. This year the "Peak to Peak" gondola opened and we traveled from one mountain top to another by a gondola with a glass bottom floor. We had so much fun with Paul and Jane we look forward to another ski trip in the future together.
